Creative is facing a major outcry from customers after putting a stop to one man who created drivers to make products Vista-compatible.
A programmer, “Daniel_K”, had created drivers for X-Fi sound cards and Vista when, a year after the OS was released, Creative has failed to release updates themselves. Asking merely for donations, he was recently hushed when Creative told him he was “stealing” by taking their products and altering them.
As a new Vista user, I’ve faced issues with several programs after only a couple of weeks. And I’m still waiting for more…with almost every application I install, I get a warning that there are known bugs with the app and Vista. I think keeping up with new operating systems and providing updates is the least these companies can do.
Anyway, supposedly iPods work fine with Vista. I might need to make the switch when I get a new mp3 player. Not because I like Vista, but because I like companies that provide updates when updates are needed. We’ll see though…I’m normally anti-Apple.
