ding dong the mouse is dead!

in green, woah

Got into my car this morning to find my trap looking like this:

mousetrap

I poked it and picked it up…felt really light, and no squeaking.  So I asked 3 guys at work to check it out, and all 3 agreed that even though it feels light, it “smells like death.”

Must’ve been a really tiny one, so I’m going to set up another trap in case of any more.  This time though, I’m going for the trap that won’t leave the poor thing dead.  Plus I don’t want my car to smell like death.  I’d rather it just smell like the peanut butter I’m using as bait  :)

another reason to buy a wii

in green, money

I haven’t quite bought into the “go green” hype, but I do know that less power consumption = lower electric bill.  So for the hippies out there, this is your way to help the environment.  For the rest of us, this will save a few $$.  Also, Mario Kart for the Wii is awesome.  That alone should be your reason  :)

wind-lit solar LEDs

These pretty little LED lights were originally battery powered, but now run on solar power.  During the day they absorb energy from the sun and save it, then light at the hint of a breeze at night.  Turned on by wind and powered by the sun…pretty cool.  Unfortunately not for sale yet, but I’m going to keep an eye out for them in the future.

Here are more details, courtesy of Inhabitat:

“The light is composed of a glass, bell-shaped, vessel, that holds the LED light, circuitry, and solar panel. Wax holds the electronics inside the glass vessel and disperses the emitting light. Paper is suspended from the center of the circuitry, and as the strip of paper is blown, the light turns on. The light will burn depending on the weather that day – more sun charges the battery longer and stronger winds keep it on.”
