Rolling Stone may also not be the magazine for me.  I was browsing their top 100 songs of 2007, and I’m not sure where I was last year because I haven’t heard most of the songs.  Maybe I’m listening to the wrong radio stations, but this is Annapolis, not the middle of nowhere…how am I so out of the loop?

Here are their top 10:

1. Jay-Z – ‘Roc Boys’
2. Randy Newman – ‘A Few Words in Defense of Our Country’
3. Rihanna – ‘Umbrella’
4. Justice – ‘D.A.N.C.E’
5. Bright Eyes – ‘Four Winds’
6. Lil Wayne – ‘Dough is What I Got’
7. Amy Winehouse – ‘Rehab’
8. Bruce Springsteen – ‘Long Walk Home’
9. M.I.A.- ‘Boyz’
10. John Fogerty – ‘Gunslinger’

Here are the ones that got stuck my head the most this year:

1.  Kanye West – Stronger (got overplayed but loved it for awhile)
2. Fall Out Boy – Bang the Doldrums (not loved by radio stations but loved by me)
3. Rihanna – Umbrella (this is the only one we agree on)
4. Justin Timberlake – What Goes Around…Comes Around
5. Wyclef Jean – Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill) (this one is STILL stuck in my head, months later)
6. The Fratellis – For the Girl (NOTE: thought this one was released in ‘06 but Rolling Stones had one of their songs listed)
7. Britney Spears – Piece of me
8. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova – Falling Slowly (from the movie Once)
9. One Republic – Apologize (are there any up-tempo remixes of this one?)
10. Linkin Park – What I’ve Done (love the background Twilight Zone-ish tune)
